Daniel Myer - An Artist for All Seasons
How does one measure one artist's success nowadays? The first key factor that comes to mind is commercial thriving which comes with dazzling stories and the mirage of a careless lifestyle above and beyond average people's habitat. Another, more fertile criterion that stands the test of time is an artist's accomplishment and versatility. That is why, an artist who does not limit him/herself to just one facet of music business has more chances at being spotted as an accomplished artist. That is why, Daniel Myer is Viva Music's artist of the month. A producer, instrumentist, performer, techie, mixer, writer and arranger of music: Daniel Myer's presence and reputation is something to look up to, and find inspiration.
Myer's musical record started early. The early 1990's meant for Myer a myriad of projects he had put his fingers in: and with a firm grip, he managed to stay atop despite changing trends, evolving industries, mind-blowing new technologies and a never seen before distribution market. HAUJOBB (a devious translation of the phrase ‘skin jobs' from the feature movie ‘Blade Runner'), DESTROID and ARCHITECT are just three of his musical projects that need your extra attention. As a musician, Myer has also roused the interest of Swedish band COVENANT when Clas Nachmanson left the band in 2007, and has worked extensively in music production with acts such as SEABOUND, DIARY OF DREAMS and more recently DUPONT, PROJECT PITCHFORK, EISBRECHER and FADERHEAD.
One of his most recent feats is an ARCHITECT series of remixes for RECOIL's "Want", released shortly after his October one-time performance with ex-DEPECHE MODE Alan Wilder and currently-DEPECHE MODE Martin L. Gore. Daniel Myer is not cut for just fifteen minutes of fame: his projects surprise every time and he is always up to something: just in 2010 he has been credited so far in 14 different projects - and it's not over yet!
True to talent-seeking and merry-making with electronica connoisseurs, Daniel Myer organizes and hosts PLANET MYER DAYS. The ninth event of this type is going to take place on January 7, 2011 in Leipzig, and is going to take aboard Greek act SUBHEIM, Dutch act EMPUSAE and Romanian act BRAZDA LUI NOVAC, whom Myer acquainted during his first visit to Romania for Viva Music's COVENANT concert in April 2010. A second visit from Daniel Myer takes place in November 2010, when DESTROID play in Viva Music's Darkwave.ro Fest, together with SLAVE REPUBLIC, FRANK THE BAPTIST and PAINBASTARD. With the latter, he also worked for mixing their 2010 "Kriegserklaerung" album and with SLAVE REPUBLIC for their "My Maker" on "Electric One".
With an artist so versatile such as Daniel Myer, there is hardly any need to fathom where he is heading. True to his mission of being part of projects he believes in and that put his abilities and expertise to good use, Daniel Myer is most certainly an artist who has a tale to tell, and whose name is going to be heard over and again as long as there is going to be music.
