COVENANT IN ROMANIA!

A night with maximum bpm and futurepop sophistication in Control Club (Academiei St., no 19) on April 8, 2010.

COVENANT (futurepop/synthpop/electronic dance music) will induce with their music a state of sonic euphoria, starting with electro anthems of northern inspiration, working its way toward addictive rhythms drawn from rituals or time immemorial.

Started over 20 years ago as the project of enthusiastic teens, the band quickly caught the public's attention. Nowadays their hits can be found in the playlists of many clubs and radio stations. COVENANT have 8 albums to their credit, and are currently preparing the release of a newly recorded material, "Modern Ruin".

COVENANT are the pioneers of futurepop, a music genre found at the crossroad between Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. They perform in a gentle yet penetrating manner, inserting minor improvisations that appeal both to connoisseurs, and the audience recently introduced to the band. The Swedish artists promise flawless sound quality and a refined and elegant stage presence.  Over time, they have shared the stage and collaborated with bands such as Rammstein, VNV Nation, Project Pitchfork, Das Ich, And One. Many of you have danced to "Bullet" at least once in a Bucharest club. Now the time to listen to it live has come!

However, the Swedes will not be the only ones ascending upon the stage in Control, on April 8. The opening act is one of the longest running Romanian electronic projects - BRAZDA LUI NOVAC

Sometime in the early '90s, Victor Popescu found his musical predilection while playing on a guitar and a toy synth. Subsequently, using fasttracker 2 on a MS DOS, he created BRAZDA LUI NOVAC. The project continued to grow gradually, today Victor using more instruments as a creative addition to schematic software. Seemingly off the soundtrack of an experimental film, BRAZDA LUI NOVAC's music sublimely fuses together a sound similar to Cocteau Twins with newer musical tendencies such as Aphex Twin. Victor's live performance is accompanied by unique visuals created by Vali Chincisan. The uncanny audio-video mosaic has managed to hypnotize audiences from Romania, London, Rome or Maastricht.

Tickets cost 30 ron, and will be found beginning March 1^st in Diverta stores, online on www.myticket.ro and at the venue. The ticket number is, however, limited.
